We are beyond excited to finally arrive in Berlin after spending some quality time with my family first (you may have met my cute niece on Snapchat!). We traveled by DeutschBahn in about 2 hours to our city of choice – BERLIN. After hauling our suitcase through the cobblestone streets and up four flights of stairs, we are excited to set up our apartment/the KC Headquarters, stock our fridge and explore this city and all it has to offer. On our first day here, we took a walk to Alexanderplatz where the long weekend festivities were happening. The Primark Store was a complete zoo, but since we had found amazing deals there before, we could not leave Alexanderplatz without having a peak inside. It was worth it!
The next day the Carnival of Cultures was taking place in Kreuzberg. The event was absolutely lovely – it is just so amazing to see how inclusive and accepting Berlin is of cultures from around the world. From graffiti covered streets and old architecture to some of the most funky spaces – you can truly find it all in Berlin. Not to mention the variety of food choices and people from all everywhere in the world. Walking down the street, I try to take it all in… these are our first few days in this beautiful hub of Europe.
