Top 5 Benefits of Dry Brushing

WHAT EXACTLY IS DRY BRUSHING?

and should I give it a try?

I had heard about dry brushing some time ago but only recently have I actually given it a try, and I knew that I needed to share it with all of you. I am very particular about the skin on my face: I try masks, different scrubs, and so on, but the skin on the rest of my body definitely does not get that much love. Ever since discovering dry brushing – which you do on your body – I am hooked and my skin has never felt this nice.

It is not expensive, or very time consuming, so why not?! I bought a brush with natural bristles (medium hardness so you don’t scratch the surface of your skin) for around €3,00 at a neighbourhood drug store. It came with a long stick that can be removed and the brush itself has a band that helps it stay on your hand as you stroke away. Dry brushing is, as the name itself explains, brushing your bare skin without water, and in a circular motion. So easy and so beneficial. Continue reading for the top five benefits of this simple technique.

MON MODE | Beauty | Dry Brushing

one / exfoliation
Dry skin cells are removed, and even ingrown hairs can be freed, leaving the skin smooth and plump. Now your skin can breathe again.

two / circulation
The bristles and the strokes against your skin encourage blood flow and therefore your stimulate your circulation. It is a great benefit for detoxification and getting that “glow” while encouraging skin tightness.

three / reduce cellulite
Cellulite is reduced because you are detoxifying the skin. With the brush strokes, fat deposits are broken down and distributed more evenly, and toxins may even leave completely. It is a natural way to fight cellulite, something which beauty brands have created very expensive products for.

four / aid digestion
This is always a good thing. With the increase in circulation and encouraging detoxification, the digestion is also effected in a positive way. As we brush the skin, we also brush lymphatic areas which are deeply connected to our kidneys.

five / stress relief
Think of dry brushing as a daily at-home massage! Its relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Get hooked and get glowing!
