Weekend Simplicity

Weekend family affairs usually require a more subtle look. For a Baby Shower this past weekend I felt this white and grey look would be just right. This cozy jacket from Nordstrom has become one of my staples to dress up a simple look. Also, this white dress I am wearing is now on sale …

Black & White Flatforms

There’s no better footwear option to run around New York in then an elevated platform loafer – especially ones from one of our newest favourite footwear designers Shelly’s London! And did we mention we scored these on sale whilst in Toronto last week? Double win.

Living the #SaksLife

On the long list of Must See/Must Try/Must Shop while in New York City, Saks Fifth Avenue ranked highly. And for good reason. This luxury department store has been featured in numerous films, shows and novels as a pivotal fashion institute of Manhattan, and flanks the luxurious Fifth Avenue shopping district. It might have been cold, but our hearts were warm as we walked through the historic building and soaked in all the FASHION.

Bundled Up In Gotham

Despite how beautiful, inspiring, enticing, exciting and invigorating New York City was, it was also another amazing verb: COLD. The sun may be shining here, but we truly bundled ourselves well before we stepped out into Manhattan, and usually that meant a minimum of three layers of clothing. But as they say, Fall is usually the favourite month of fashionites (not only because of Fashion Month) because they get to layer, layer and layer! So no, we weren’t complaining too much. And how could we? The sounds of taxis, the hustle of Manhattanites, the chilly wind – it was all part of our NYC experience.

Teddy Bears Collide

Cold & windy Toronto called for this layered and fuzzy look to keep the warmth in and the style out, so to speak. This skirt was another major find in Amsterdam back in 2013, and it always seems to catch attention and somehow works for both daywear and evening. This was the last from WMCFW and the faux-bob effect with the hood and the hair is pretty cool, no?

Cookie Monster Coat

For the second day of WMCFW looks, we knew that the chilling winds of Toronto would be no match for this faux-fur shaggy blue and grey coat. Not only did it catch attention, it also scared away the winds because the rest of Day 2 was pleasant and totally bearable! Also, these Shelly London platforms we scored yesterday at a boutique on Queen Street in Toronto’s downtown are not only a life-saver after yesterday’s full day of walking (and in heels!) but also a prominent style staple.
